A product strategist with deep fintech expertise, transforming ideas into award-winning platforms.
Hey! I'm Jeff Peters, and I love making product magic happen. Growing up with a Wall Street veteran dad in New Jersey, I learned early that success comes from mastering both what everyone sees and what happens behind the scenes.
This dual-layer perspective led me from professional trading to leading product innovation at TradeStation and Stocktwits, where I helped transform how millions of people interact with financial markets.
I got my first taste of the markets in the New Jersey suburbs, where my dad—a Wall Street veteran—taught me that success comes from understanding both the patterns everyone sees and the mechanics that drive them. This lesson would later become the foundation of my approach to product management and the inspiration behind Double Lift.
Trading actually paid my way through college at the University of Miami (yes, I traded professionally while still in school—thank you, T3 Trading Group!). Looking back, those early days of live trading taught me something crucial about product development: you need to understand your users' needs at a gut level. There's no better way to understand what traders need than being one yourself.
My journey through fintech has been an incredible ride of transforming how people interact with financial markets. At TradeStation, I led the development of their flagship platform, which drove 80% of the company's trading revenue. We didn't just update the platform—we reimagined how traders interact with markets, earning industry recognition and driving massive growth.
Later, at Stocktwits, I had the chance to push innovation even further. We launched options trading capabilities and real-money competitions that doubled our transaction volumes and tripled funding rates. But what really excited me wasn't just the metrics—it was seeing how these tools helped people become better traders and investors.
One of my greatest joys is teaching at BrainStation's Product Management Course. There's something magical about sharing everything I've learned about product management with the next generation of leaders. I love seeing that moment when a complex concept suddenly clicks for a student, or when they successfully apply a framework we've discussed to solve a real-world problem.
Teaching has also made me a better product leader. Explaining concepts to others forces you to distill complex ideas into their essential elements—a skill that's invaluable when working with cross-functional teams or presenting to stakeholders.
When I'm not geeking out about product strategy, you'll probably find me at a Florida Panthers game (though I'll always be a Devils fan at heart), hitting tennis balls, or enjoying a day out on Miami's waters. I believe in finding balance and bringing energy from outside experiences into product development.
Community involvement has always been important to me. Back in high school, I founded Kaiyapalooza to help a young girl overcome the effects of cerebral palsy. Today, I serve on the board of FLIPANY, working to provide equitable access to nutrition and health in South Florida. These experiences remind me that at its core, product management is about making people's lives better.
I founded Double Lift because I believe creating extraordinary products requires mastering both the visible and invisible elements of product management. Like the magic trick that inspired our name, success comes from making complexity disappear for your users while expertly orchestrating all the behind-the-scenes elements that make it possible.
Whether you're building a new trading platform, optimizing an existing product, or transforming your team's capabilities, I'm here to help you master both the art and science of product excellence. Want to chat about innovative product strategies 🚀, exchange a few serves on the tennis court 🎾, or plan a boat day 🛥? I'm always up for a good conversation!
